Nikon Users
The Nikon D40 and D40x were the first Nikon cameras without a built in auto focus motor. This has now been followed with the D60 camera. This means that any lens used with the D40 D40x and D60 will need an auto focus motor built into the lens. Many Sigma lenses have been re-designed to incorporate a built in motor, allowing autofocus when used with all Nikon cameras, including the D40 D40x and D60.
This Sigma lens available in a Nikon fit lens includes a built-in focusing motor and are fully compatible with the Nikon D40, D40x and D60.
The wide angle of view (102.4°at 10mm) with broader perspective, offers the photographer greater freedom of expression.
EX Lens Series; Excellence Of Engineering And New Technology
Three SLD glass elements are employed for effective compensation of colour aberration, a common problem with super-wide angle lenses. One molded glass element and two hybrid aspherical lenses, offer excellent correction for distortion, as well as all types of aberration.
HSM Auto Focusing
This lens is equipped with HSM technology providing quiet, high speed autofocus while offering full time manual focusing.
Minimum Focusing Distance of 24cm
It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm at all focal lengths makes this lens ideal for ultra wide, close up photography.
Inner Focus System
The non-rotating lens barrel is eminently suitable for the petal shaped lens hood (included) and circular polarizing filters.
