Used to control the amount of light entering the camera lens for following reasons: to adjust film speed, to lower shutter speed, or to decrease depth of field.
Neutral density filters uniformly attenuate the intensity of light over a broad spectral range. Attenuation is accomplished by using either a light-absorbing glass or a thin-film metal coating that combines absorption and reflection.
These filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. They have coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission.
